Let me elaborate further on this point. Whether the Phra Kring is Medicine Buddha depend on school of Thought. For Theravada school, there is nothing mention about Medicine Buddha so they don't recognise Him. Only Mahayana School recognise the Medicine Buddha even though both falls under the same umbrella.

All Buddha has the same Buddha Nature and Supreme Qualities.

We must work towards that path and benefit nothing just by admiring or comparing one versus another.

Yes, you are right, but to work toward the path first we must know the different direction to avoid confusion.

Phra Kring Maha Sitthi Chok, Wat Prasat, Bangkok, B.E.2506

Phra Kring Wat Prasat was scheduled to be casted on Friday, 10.p.m of the 3rd Lunar Month in B.E.2506. The date chosen was because it was greatly auspicious and is known as Wan Maha Sitthi Chok, loosely translated as Great Success and Good Fortune Day. It is believed that any important tasks which are held on such an auspicious date will result in great success and also great fortune. The Phra Kring which were consecrated on that day were hence also known as Phra Kring Maha Sitthi Chok.

There were basically 2 types of Phra Kring amulets consecrated, namely Phra Kring Tibet and Phra Kring Yai. The metal which was used to consecrate this batch of Phra Kring amulet consists of metal plates which were inscribed with Agkara Khom by famous monks such as:

    - Luang Phor Noi, Wat Thammasala
    - Luang Phor Kee, Wat Hu Chang
    - Luang Phor Thaen, Wat Thammasaen
    - Luang Phor Thiam, Wat Kasattrathiraj
    etc.

These inscribed metal plates were to be melted and many other auspicious metals were also added into the compound, such as:

    - Phra Kring of Sangkaraj Pae, Wat Suthat donated by Phra Acharn Khao who was one of the 9 committee members

    - Roop Lor Luang Phor Thuad, Wat Changhai, Pattani

    - Phra Kring of Acharn Thep Sarikbut
    - Phra Kring Wat Suthat of Phrakru Noo, Wat Suthat together with Phra Leela Satthawas B.E.2500
    - Phra Kring Wat Rajbhorphit which was brought by Phra Acharn Reuang, Wat Mai Phin Suwan

    - Phra Kring Fa Pha, Wat Don Yannawa
    - Nur Chin (lead/silver alloy) Kru Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat, Suphanburi, donated by Luang Phor Thira, Wat Palelai
    - Roop Lor Somdej Phra Sangkaraj Jao, Wat Boworn donated by Phrakru Wimon Sornphon, Wat Suthat
    etc.

After the casting was completed, 129 famous guru monks were then invited to consecrate this batch of Phra Kring amulets continuously for 4 days.

It is one of the biggest ceremony as over 200 famous monks were being invited to participate in the ceremony, including:

I don't think it's advisable since she's pregnant and not sick, it is just going to add to her load as Phra Kring amulets are usually heavy. Other types of small and light amulets are more suitable.

Wat Suthat does have some lighter smaller krings. Personally i like the Wat Toh Yong 2538 Kring, but its slightly heavier than the smaller Wat Suthat.
Any particular reason why you getting for your sister in law? Is she ok?

Luang Pu Thuad is definitely a good choice for your purpose, a small Roop Lor is usually popular with women.

Phra Kring Sirakat (Khum Klao) Maha Mongkhon, B.E.2524

Phra Kring Sirakat (Khum Klao), Phim 1

Between the years B.E.2522 to B.E.2527, a great project was called to raise funds for the building of Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital and also for the purchasing of modern medical equipment.

On 12th August B.E.2526, a great consecration ceremony was led by Somdej Phra Sangkaraj Song who was the chief monk of Thailand, along with 60 other great guru monks of the period in the main hall of Wat Ratchabhophit. The great guru monks were involved in the writing of Akara Khom inscriptions on gold, rose gold and silver sheets. After this task was done, the sheets were then sent nationwide to 1,250 famous living guru monks such as:

    - Luang Pu Waen, Wat Doi Mae Pang, Chiang Mai province on 19th August B.E.2526
    - Luang Pu Phrommajak, Wat Phra Phutthabaht, Lamphun province on 21st August B.E.2526
    - Luang Phor Kasem, Wat Pacha Trairatanaram, Lampang province on 22nd August B.E.2526
    - Luang Phor Dun, Wat Burapharam, Surin province on 16th September B.E.2526
    - Luang Phor Pae, Wat Pikunthong, Singburi province on 3rd October B.E.2526
    - Luang Phor Uttama, Wat Wangwiwekaram, Kanchanaburi province on 5th October B.E.2526
    - Luang Phor Joy, Wat Khao Suwanpradit, Surat Thani province on 11th October B.E.2526
    - Somdej Phra Yansangworn, Wat Boworn, Bangkok

The Royal Family's participation on 5th December B.E.2526

On 5th December B.E.2526, on the birthday of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, where His Majesty was invited along with H.R.H Queen Sirikit and H.R.H Princess Sirindhorn to partake in the ceremony. They were invited to smelt the inscribed metal sheets to be casted into the Phra Kring Sirakat amulets in Wat Doi Mae Pang, Chiang Mai province. On 16th January B.E.2527, Somdej Phra Sangkaraj along with 9 other senior guru monks performed blessings on the amulets in the middle of Sanam Luang which was the area of the Grand Palace in Bangkok. From the 6th to the 9th of April B.E.2527, another blessing ceremony was held continuously for 4 nights by 108 guru monks which was held at Wat Phra Keaw, where the initial lighting of the auspicious candle was lighted by His Majesty The King and extinguished on the last day by Somdej Yansangworn.

Phra Kring Sirakat, Phim 1 from original brochure, made 10,000 pieces in Nur Nawak only

2 models of Phra King Sirakat amulets were created, which were named Phim 1 and Phim 2 and had overall differences in their appearance. Phim 1 was created in Nur Nawak (9-metal alloy) only and 10,000 pieces were casted. Phim 2 was created in 3 types of materials, Nur Thong Kham (gold), Nur Ngern (silver) and Nur Nawak (9-metal alloy) and a total of 39,900 pieces were casted.

The Phra Kring Sirakat amulets were distributed on 2 occasions, in B.E.2527 after the ceremony was over where only Phim 2 was allowed to be rented out. Phim 1 was to be kept until His Majesty The King's 6th cycle or 72nd birthday in B.E.2542, which is how the name "Khum Klao" was derived which means "to be presented to the King".

Phra Kring Sirakat (Khum Klao), Phim 2 from original brochure, made 39,900 pieces in gold, silver and nawak

This ceremony was the 1st time His Majesty The King Bhumibol Adulyadej participated in the casting of a Buddha image and hence the popularity of this batch of Phra Kring Sirakat amulets, especially for Phim 1 which was the actual pieces being presented to the King. All pieces of Phra Kring Sirakat Phim 1 amulets were stamped with the Royal Thai Airforce logo at the back as this batch was also made under their patronage. All ceremonies with His Majesty The King's involvement will always be of great importance as great guru monks will participate to ensure the ceremonies were carried out perfectly with the highest blessings.
