Recently alot of people who have no prior experience in Barang are getting involved in Barangs. Perhaps some experienced seniors can share their advice and guidelines to newbies like me. Hopefully this thread can shed some light onto maintanence of Barang and different viewpoints of taking care of barang.

Let me start the ball rolling then

1. Before bringing a barang home, do burn incense and tell your house gods that you are letting a spirit stay over and the spirit is helping you. This is to give permission so that the spirit can come into the house.

2. Do check for katha if available and chant the katha. Most barangs come with Katha for 'activation'.

3. Barang spirits are strictly not allowed to enter most temples. You may feel headache if you bring barang into temples. Do tell your barang spirits to stay outside of the temple grounds.

4. Barangs feed off your 'energy' and 'merits'. If you feel lethargic and got into all sorts of sickness and troubles, do check if its due to barang. It may be due to Barang.

5. Some barangs are bound to their physical item piece while some may bound with you instead. No idea how to check though.
