A brief history of this temple can be traced back during the time when Porthan Lek of Wat Ariyakiri appointed his student disciple Porthan Long to head Wat Tendong. This temple is famous for its Pidta Bangsek supremacy. The current abbot is Porthan Goi. To read further please follow this story link ... Wat Tendong Kelantan ;)

IMO this "Pidta supremacy" is more a hype. There are some solid traditions in Kelantan though (first hand experience).

Not speaking in relation to e article but y is pidta supremacy a hype? Kelantan has probably the best Pidta in thai amulet history IMHO. There is another famous pidta which ppl pay ridiculous amounts to own n tat IMO is a hype.

Because something like "supremacy" is clearly a fluff word and it is famous why? Many stories? Prices go how high? Batches go how many? Who pumps now what? Actually whole Thai amulet business is a hype with majority of amulets out there being just something factory pumped as if it were made in China. I know my "popularity" here will go down the drain now ...

I doubt kelantan amulets are factory pumped (as far as i noe for famous temples like Wat uttamaram/ LP A1's tmeple etc). Most temples in kelantan make limited amulets. N no one rents kelantan pidtas becuz of e word supremacy. Kelantan amulet scene is nt like in thailand where dealers n "big boys" on top control the market with stupid stories. Kelantan has its own legacy.

Fully agreed on this point bro Raghav. Hand pump and not factory pump follows the true legacy of true makers in this sense. Yup, no doubt certain Kelantan temples of old masters or any good temples don't believe in mass production because the ingredients are very rare and hard to find. Wat Tendong falls into this category that does not believe in mass productions and create only for a specific cause.
