LP Lae Singha Neua Mai Phayaung Dam Wat Pra Song BE2539 LP Lae was born in BE2459 & passed away in BE2551. During his lifetime, he learned from various masters of which all are guru monks like LP Doem Wat Nong Po, LP Tae Wat Sam Ngan, LP Chong Wat Natang Nok, LP Boon Wat Klang Bang Kaew, LP Thong Suk Wat Tanod Luang, LP Rod Wat Nai Rong, LP Cham Wat Takong etc etc. This particular Singha though inexpensive is not actually ordinary. It was carved out of Black Wood ( called Mai Phayaung Dam in Thai ). Black Wood is a very rare & highly sought after material as it is believed to hold special power to be able to ward off bad luck & black magic, block unholy & evil spirits from causing harm, offer protection during accidents etc. LP Lae not only followed the design of LP Doem's Singha but also intentionally selected the best craftsmans from the district Phayu Hakiri in Nakhon Sawan who crafted LP Doem's Singha many years earlier. As the Singha ( Lion ) is a fierce animal, it is most valuable to people of authority like in the Army or Police or Directors or Management Staff of a company as it has the magical properties of making one's subordinates loyal, respectful & obedient. Being fierce, it also has the ability to protect from & overpower harmful spirits & ghosts according to some legends. Due to this very distinct characteristics, it is most suitable to be used for making amulets. History of Samakom Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association has been established for 24 years & is widely accepted as the authority for all Thai Buddha amulets. Majority of the major competitions held all around Thailand are also organized by them or by organizations ( either Government or other big organizations ) engaging the expertise of their judges. Not too long ago, Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association verification exercise was only conducted on a yearly basis & after that there was an extremely long wait of 6 months to 1 year ( it took 1 1/2 years in BE2554 ) for the A4 size certs to be ready due to the enormous amount of amulets submitted for verification. In line with industry standards & market expectations, the new "certs" will now be credit card size & the wait is drastically reduced although NOT to an "instantaneous" basis of 2-3 days or lesser. The "cert" now sports a new look but the rigorous & intense examination is very much the same. For the amulets that passed authentication, it will also be hosted online on Sammakom's website : www.samakomphra.com & the new owner will only need to key in the card number to verify that the amulet has really gone through proper examinations.
