Recently, i met up with a friend and i was telling him of my interest in sakyant.
He immediately advise me not to do sakyant. This is exactly what he said. ' doing sakyant has its own rules n regulations. worse it will come with vows and precepts. although the tattoo is a holy talisman. it is very different from amulet. when u do not feel like wearing amulets or going or doing someother things, u can remove the amulet. but not sakyant Esp in singapore. when we do not understand thai. we will not know what are the precepts to be taken. in the event we break any vows, it will be disaster. The shop in singapore simply wants to make business. can you imagine if the shop would tell you every RULES n PRECEPTS n RESTRICTIONS. will you still do sakyant ? they will lose business. so they will only tell you the basic simple one. Even those master who has frequent singapore for a long time know our culture. u think they will tell you honestly? Sometime the master who sakyant for u, might take a vow on behalf for you. and u do not know, becoz u do not speak thai. so my advice to you is not to do sakyant. lest the trouble can any bros/sister expound on this ? i hope this is not what is happening in singapore. becoz afterall sacred tattoos can be quite disastrous if its really the case as mention abv |
