Hi everyone, I'm new around and I have a few questions I want to ask about amulets and the practice of wearing it properly and respectfully.
As you guys have known, a lot of people out there have been saying half-truths about thai amulets and it comes to a point where you don't know right from wrong anymore. Therefore I hope to come here to seek some answers from people who really know something, i.e. you guys. I've known about thai amulets for some time now, and until recently, I became really interested and wish to find out more. 1. In general, what kinds of amulets are good for which purpose? E.g. for likeability, for career/business, for wealth, for protection etc. From what I've heard, somdeij is good for career/business, and kom paen is good for protection, can anyone help to verify or share some expertise? 2. If I'm in a business where it involves sales and meeting people in general, what amulet would help me the most? I'm thinking something that will make people like me and showing kindness to me. 3. Is it true that amulets are only to be worn in odd numbers? 1, 3, 5 etc... 4. I was brought up a Tibetian Buddhist and I still believe too, in Buddhism in general, and if I were to get a Thai amulet, would it "clash"? Let's say I choose to believe strongly in both. Will it have an averse effect on me or my family? 5. How often do you guys pray/chant to your respective amulets? And, in SG, which temple do you bring it to for the monks to do prayers/chantings? 6. If you put your amulets in your room, and you know, if you want to get intimate and stuff, what are the things you normally do so as not to "offend"? 7. Which place/dealer do you guys know that sell amulets that have already been chanted, or "open light", a direct translation from 开光. 8. I'm thinking of getting an amulet also for my gf, and what is good in general for ladies in terms of luck and career and protection? I do realise this is an extensive list and I'm really sorry, but I hope people who know the answer can shed some light or share expertise... Thanks, and it would help a lot. |
