Hey all,
Personally, I pride myself as a serious amulet collector and wearer and as such, I thought I'd share my opinions on the things that any serious amulet collector should have and should do. Opinions may differ, but these are just my personal views. Anyway here's what I have in my amulet care kit... 1) Simple Maintenance/Care Kit comprising of: - White gloves ( i got mine from my NO. 1 uniform cos I cheapskate) to prevent sweat from palms getting into contact with amulets - A few pieces of polishing cloth. Army guys should know, those m16 cleaning cloth. For me, I use spectacle cloth and computer monitor cloth also. - Soft bristle brush, like those u see on sale at Challenger for cleaning and dusting of keyboard - Cotton Ear buds for gentle scrubbing and removing of stains and dirt - Clear Nail Polish, for coating the micron-gold cases to prevent decolourisztion - 2 toothless pliers ( this one don't need to say) - Eye Loupe - Torch light with white light - Toothbrush to brush away stubborn dirt particles - Brasso (for my metal amulets i.e. WRK somdej gold silver and brass) 2) Amulet Inventory On Excel Sheet - Year, Maker, Temple, Occasion, Amulet Type. This is for easy tracking and identification in future 3) Proper storage space...preferably an amulet box with display glass. Also, don't forget to put silica gel in the box to absorb any unnecessary moisture in the box. |
