I would like to share Chao Khun's biography with bros here so that we can know more about him. Kindly forgive me as some of the temples and LPs are not so well known and so the spelling might be wrong as I can't find any info for some of the temples and LPs. From a tender age, where everyone around him was having fun as a kid, Chao Khun Chak was already very keen to learn more about buddhism. Which is one thing that make him very different from his peers. He told me, he couldn't explain why is this so even up to this day. As a person can only be ordained as a monk after 20 years of age, anyone who ordain before the age of 20 are called 'Nian" in thailand. At the age of 13, Chao Khun Chak ordained as a 'Nian' in Wat No Lek, Uthai Thani province. LP Jiu officiated over his ordination and was his first master. Chao Khun Chak stayed at Wat No Lek for 4 years, and in that 4 years, LP Jiu taught him everything. Eg; reading in Pali and meditation. Lp Jiu was also skilled in the arts of metta and he imparted this knowledge to Chao Khun Chak. At the age of 17, Chao Khun left Wat No Lek and tudong to Wat Ban Tak, Uthai Thani province to learn from LP Klai. LP Klai taught him protection charms like kongrapan. After staying at Wat Ban Tak for a year, Chao Khun tudong again to Wat Paknam. He spent 2 years there learning meditation from Chao Khun Pit Part. Chao Khun Chak left Wat PakNam at 20 years old and went to Wat Intaram to be officially ordained as a monk. During the next 5 years at Wat Intaram, Chao Khun always make his way to Wat Kao Kaew that is nearby to visit LP Kant to learn the art of making mit mor. LP Kant of Wat Kao Kaew is the disciple of LP Derm of Wat Nong Po, one of the most famous makers of Mit Mor. Chao Khun Chak after learning everything that he could from LP Kant, then continued on his journey to Wat Mahatat to learn from Chao Khun Pae and LP Took from Wat Choon Den that is nearby. Chao Khun Pae taught him metta and LP Took taught him kongrapan. When Chao Khun Chak was 62 years old, 9th King conferred the title of 'Chao Khun' to him. Now, at 64 years of age, Chao Khun Chak have been serving Wat Mahatat for 39 years. credits to bro tk76 |
