Some thoughts for reflections and discussion

Does anyone encounter situations where one who religiously prayed, observed certain rites and cultivate better actions have difficulties connecting to the close people or mass people?

I dun see myself very strict in administrating religious duties, observe non meat diet, chant or mediate.
I diligently pray everyday, take veg food (since I can made that choice during lunch time), be positive…. I began to observe people tends to be angry, materialistic, holding on to things very strongly like money, status, recognition etc.. that’s how the current world is like. In my current state, these are begin to falter. However, people around me tends to hold these strongly.

Whether at home or at work, there is a disconnect between me and people. At home, you have to bring money back, put food on the table, pay bills, put kids thru education, buy books, etc. In office, you need to play politics, carry balls, compete for recognition, give back economic contribution to the company. So, is the current state which weaken me to hold these dearly prevent me from doing it to my best ? Practically, this is the modern world and it seems like the current state I am in, provide solace in my mental state.

I say I dun connect well cos to me, the current state is slowly finding immaterial to me or less important. To the other people, I am not doing well enough to meet their expectations. To me, economically I feel I have receded. Socially, the people around me are at slightly different frequency……

Something not right? Or is this a transition process?
